ABOUT ME

My name is Elle Norman, and I am a freelance casting assistant, dramaturg, content creator, and writer from Houston, Texas. Heavily influenced by my love of television, I have immersed myself in all aspects of the entertainment industry from a young age. I believe television has the potential to influence the cultural zeitgeist and reach international audiences, and I have my sight set on entering the room where it happens.
I have written and produced my own original plays, musicals, and screenplays; my work contains themes of queerness, gender, and mental health. I value authenticity and empathy in every collaboration I enter. Through producing my own productions, I have come to believe strongly in the power of casting to create safe work environments and promote representation of minority groups. As a neurodivergent, queer woman, I understand how important and uplifting it is to see yourself represented in media. I hope to bring that knowledge to the field of casting and development.
I have worked as a freelance casting assistant for Nancy Mosser Casting for over a year. I have worked on everything from commercials to indie films to blockbusters. A recent project, Cha Cha Real Smooth, was granted admission to Sundance Film Festival, and I hope to advance my career and continue to advocate for minority groups through casting and creating my own stories.
